What a weekend!!!

What a weekend did we have! On Friday I order pizza and on my way home I pick it up. They ate while I change. After dinner we took the kids to the carnival to ride the rides. We got them bracelets because usually is cheaper that way. Well Shane was going up on everything and anything that you would let him go on. And this time he was tall enough to go in them too. Kelly went into some of them but I think sense he didn’t have her friend to go up with her it was just not the same. Now Byron well that is just a different story. I had to push him to get him to ride in most of the rides. He didn’t want anything to do with the medium side rides let along the big ones. It was funny because the last ride was the fairs wheel and it was Kelly and Shane in it. I don’t know if the guy forgot about Kelly and Shane but they were the first ones in and the last ones out. Shane loves it, especially because he got to be at the top for a long time!

After that we went to watch the monster trucks. The kids had a blast watching the trucks going on top of the line of old cars! Every time that the trucks raddle their engines, Shane cover his ears but after they finish he will scream and do like if he was whistling! It was a very funny site to watch. Just when I thought that it was over, the guy came thru the microphone and told everyone that it was time for the 20 min intermission. Are you kidding me, I am ready to go to bed. Byron like the Tail Gator, Shane’s favorite was Big Dog. So during the 20 minutes we went to the shop, Byron got a shirt with Tail Gator in it and Shane got a Big Dog truck toy.

We finally got out of there at about 10:30pm. On our way to the truck we saw Mrs. Ashley and sense the kids wanted to see the animals at the petting zoo, wee sk her if it was ok for the kids to see the animals that her kids were showing. They got to pet a cow, a pig, a few goats and a horse. I was so tired that it was hard to keep awake on the way home. And we are talking about 5 min max!

The next day I wanted to sew so Kelly and I went to Wal-mart to get a few cuts and some groceries. After 2 hours and a few hundreds we got out of there ready to sew. Kelly got a skirt pattern, I got each boy a lounge pants pattern and I got fabric to make curtains for the office/ sewing room. Kelly’s skirt turns out great. She just like her momma when it comes to crafts. At about 9 pm I stop sewing and going Mike and Kelly in the porch. It was a very nice night.

On Sunday everyone got up supper late so we didn’t make it to church. I wanted to finish sewing the pants and at least start the curtains in the office room. I started at about 11 am and but 8 pm I call it quit with the main curtains done. Just a few accents left to do. I can wait to see the room finish.

To new beginnings!!!

What a move!!! It is hard to believe that we move from Wamego, KS. That it have been 2 months and a half and that the kids are finally adjusting. It is just meant to be. Mike applied for the Emergency Management Coordinator position in Finney County. He did a phone interview and then later that same week they ask him if he could some to Garden City for an in person interview. At that time he asks me if I saw anything on the Garden City website that I would like to apply for. I look and saw an Administrative Assistant position, so I filled out the application for it. The next day I got a call asking if I could come to Garden City for an interview. I told them that my husband was having an interview the next Friday (April 27, 2012) and that I could be there as well. So on April 26, 2012 Mike and I drove the 5 long hours to Garden City. It was great for us because we were able to talk without interruptions. We got to Garden City; we check in at the hotel and went to see the town. It is in between Wamego and Manhattan so it was not too overwhelming. We went to bed hoping that the next day would be a great one. And indeed it was. Mike went to his interview at 8:45 and I walk into the City building at about 8:50am. Knowing that I was very early but better early than late, right! At my interview I guess I did great because they ask me if I have time for a second interview that same day. At the end of my interview, they offer me the job. I told them that I would have to wait until I found out about my husband’s interview. He got is call about 6pm while we were eating dinner on our way back to Wamego.

Our life was about to make a 180 degrees turn. We both out our 2 week notice and start packing! How could you pack a house that you have lived in 7 years in two weeks? With a lot of help from friends and family we were able to do it. Two weeks later, we had a caravan going down the highway, one U-Haul, one pickup truck, one SUV, one minivan, 4 adults, 5 kids and a LOT of boxes.

Everyone was adjusting ok but poor Byron. He was having a hard time going to a different school for a week and a half. He wanted me to drop him off, but when I did he didn’t wanted me to leave. He will hug my leg and didn’t want to let go. Shane is more aggressive to certain extend. He is more defiant, he gets mad when he didn’t get his way. And I so understand him, he is just trying to get control of anything. His word was flip upside down and he is trying to hold on to anything. Kelly in the other hand is the one that surprise me. She has adjusted extremely well to the move. She pack her room at the old house, she unpack her boxes in the new house. As soon as she started the new school she made friends. Did great in summer softball, to include more friends! She is great with the boys while Mike and I are at work. She just ask from me to take her out every now and then to the strip mall that we have so we can go and look at clothes!

Mike like his job. It is something that he was wanting for a long time and I am very glad that he was able to get it. He is not working long hours; needier is he traveling as much as before. And that I don’t like, I love it. He help to coach Kelly’s softball team and he went to everyone but 2 swimming lessons this summer. Me, well I like my job. It is different than my old job. It is clearly not as demanding or stressful. I am the secretary (Administrative Assistant) for the Director of Public Utilities and Ii well, I like it. I work 8 to 5 and I get one hour for lunch. I have the same schedule as Mike and well it is just great. I love my new house and with every day that passes it looks more like a home!

Know we are getting ready for school enrollment. This will be Shane’s first year at school and Byron will move to second grade. They will both be in catholic school for the first time. We will see how that goes. I hope that Shane can make it a week without getting expel. Here in Garden City 6th grade is still part of elementary school. So she will be moving to the middle school which is now where the old high school was. It is big compared with the old middle school but I guess that is what needed it because of the growing population in Garden City. I am ready to send them off to school and to make some kind of a schedule to follow so our days and evenings are not so crazy. But for now I am enjoying the summer months and embracing my new life!!!

First Day of the Last Year of Preschool!!!

Shane completed the 1st week of preschool with all three days been good days. That is awesome!!! But at the same time, it make me think that my baby is getting to be too of a big boy and that next year at this same time he will be getting ready to start Kinder. They grow to fast, so now with even Kelly been 11, I still have time to enjoy more every moment spend with them.

Shane took a high dive!!!

This past weekend was the church pool party. The weather was great, the water was a little too cold but the kids didn't seam to care much. A few weeks back Shane jump for the first time out of the small diving board. Well Mike went with us to the party and wanted to see Shane jump, but what happen next, I wasn't expecting it. Instead of stopping in front of the small diving board he took Shane to the BIG one. My heart was racing supper fast. But he did a great jump and big brother Joe was inside the pool waiting for him! Love that boy, but one of this days he is going to give me a heart attack!!!

No time!!!

Time just runs away from me!!! I can't believe that summer is almost gone and I didn't post anything about it. So here we are, ready to start school, Shane's last year at preschool. Byron going to 1st grade and Kelly starting Middle School. My baby girl is not a baby anymore. This summer Shane show me one more time that he is not a baby anymore. 2 weeks ago he decided that he was going to jump out of the diving board, and so he did. No he is unstoppable. I have to be after him all the time, because he thinks he is big and he can do everything that the big kids do at the pool. I don't know how I don't loose weight after running after him!!! Well hopefully I don't wait so much to update my blog again!!!

Happy Birthday Shane!!!

Another year pass and at the same time we look forward to another year to come. Full with I can’t do it mommy or I can do it I am big. Give the bottle to the baby that it was crying but then at night asking if we can call the baby because I want my bottle back!!! I love my baby boy, he just light up the room with his smile, take your toy and runs away!!! He his the one that give kisses to the bubu so they can get better and the one that eat chips for breakfast.

Kelly been gone for the first time in 5 years, that was a lot to take in, but knowing that it is great for her. She is growing to be a little lady that is trying to figure out how things work. I just try to show her the way and make sure that I turn the light on in front of her and that I turn it off after she leaves. Making sure that she knows that I am here for her whenever she needs me, but giving her space to fall down so she can learn from her own mistakes.

Byron is starting to read and he is enjoying been a big boy, because just in case you didn’t know now “I am 5 mom, I am big” He doesn’t need help to ride his bike, or to make himself a cup of juice. But like to be tucking in and snuggle up!!! And I take every minute that I can take because they grow too fast.

Happy Birthday Baby Shane!!!

Poor Shane

Well yesterday we found out that Mr. Shane have RSV and it might be developing pneumonia. So humidifier, Vick's, antibiotic and a lot of TLC and prayers. He is been his normal self, but something told me that the boy wasn't right. So using my mom instinct I call the Dr. And the great party which make me love my Dr and his whole staff is that they where able to see him that same day. Even when my call was made ad 3:45pm. So hopefully we are on the road to recovery and keeping the other kiddos healthy.

So fast...

This weekend we celebrated 3 of 5 bdays of our kids. What a great time with family and friends. People ask me if I was crazy so many times, but I would not have it any other way. At one point there where more than 35 kids but at the same time there where more than 30 adults. The kids had a great time bowling, playing in the arcade, playing pool. Others talking to each other, helping with the kids at the lanes, handing out pizza, juice or cup cakes. It was about 3hrs long, but the kids had so much fun and at the end that is what matters. It is only once a year that they get to celebrate their bday, so I try to make it as special as possible. I was glad that we where able to celebrate Joey's bday, even do he turn 14 I think he still have fun when he celebrate with family. I know that is not going to be the case for much longer, so I try to get that time as much as I can. Miss Kelly tuning 10, OMG why time is going so fast. And Byron, he is 5, what is he thinking by turning 5 on me. After all is set and done, we got home and some how I end up with 7 girls and 3 boys in my house!!! But I have to say that they where great. As we pass the page and start to write on a new page, I start on bday # 3 for Mr Shane, which it will be next month. Oh well as long as we have kids, health and a happy family anything else is just extra.

Christmas Cards!!!

I don't know how people can make 5 kids smile at the same time. God knows I try, but there was no way I could. If it wasn't the little one was the middle one or the oldes one. But we had fun while making eachother laugh. Even do I don't think Shane had so much fun at the end...

And this is the outcome...
